About Us

Southshore Broadcasting Inc. (CFTV-DT Community Focus TeleVision) is a non-profit community base multicultural broadcaster.   CFTV-DT is a low power television station multi-plexing over the air on UHF 34.1,34.2, 34.3, 34.4, on Gosfield North Communications Company IPTV 34.1, 34.2, 34.3 and 34.4, on cable 100 and on Bell Express Vu 586.  Our mandate is to provide local informative educational and entertaining programming that reflects the community we serve.  

Our objectives are to stimulate growth in the local economy and provide a media vehicle for expression and promotion though televised town hall meetings, cultural events and sports, educational, health and nutrition programs as well as agricultural, promotion and tourism.  CFTV-DT went to air March 9th 2005 with a newscast.  We have grown in programming and staff to become a public television station that runs twenty-four hours a day seven days a week.  CFTV-DT covers the Leamington Town Council,and Essex Town Council, many festivals, fairs and events in the areas of Leamington, Tilbury, Wheatley, Essex, Kingsville, Windsor and Tecumseh. CFTV-DT's objective is to bring the community a locally owned and operated low power television broadcasting facility designed to service the informational needs of the local population.  It is our belief that this is a viable not-for-profit business that creates a much needed exposure to all the different cultures, languages and customs that enrich our community.              

As a broadcaster Southshore Broadcasting Inc. is responsible to the community to conduct our daily operations in a manner that is both morally and ethically honourable within our community.             

As a producer Southshore Broadcasting Inc. broadcasts shows in respective languages of our community and every effort is being made to cover major festivals and special events that take place during the year for all our ethnic communities.           

As a cultural supporter Southshore Broadcasting is committed to quality programming that reflects life in our community and before any program is aired certain criteria must be met to assure the audience that the programs on our station have a purpose consistent with our mission statement.           

As a corporate citizen Southshore Broadcasting Inc. delivers timely media coverage for tourism, theme promotions, business development, local news and information.
